I would suggest while some data may be recovered that any data overwritten by the OS load is lost. learnt many moons ago that if it is important some times it is better to leave it until the following day. doing it in a rush late at night and using coffee to run on empty is a great way to f@#^&p. I spent (wasted) hours more than once trying "everything" and finally put it do went to bed and in the morning the solution was obvious and fixed in 30 minutes. these days after an hour walk away and thing about the problem rather than fiddling exercise the mind rather than memory of what you have and havent done because not many of us write every step we do down.
